NFL Jerseys

My wife and I have been shopping for Christmas presents for our family.  Each year it seems that some family members are more difficult to buy presents for than others.  I am sure that every family has a member that is “hard to by for”; well my cousin is not one of those people.

My cousin loves to watch football, but not just any type of football.  He is a National Football League fanatic.  His favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys.  Ever since we were young, he has loved the Dallas Cowboys.  I actually like a couple of teams when I was young: the Washington Redskins, the Pittsburg Steelers, and of course the Dallas Cowboys.  My cousin always placed his passion on the Dallas Cowboys.

With that being said, it’s easy to find my cousin a Christmas gift.  NFL jerseys are one of his favorite items to receive as a Christmas present; as long as it’s a Dallas Cowboys jersey.  My wife and I have given him a Dallas Cowboy t-shirt and a Dallas Cowboy pullover-hoodie.  As long as it has his favorite team’s logo and colors on it, he loves the gift.

Wetsuits

When I was growing up, in the early eighties, skateboarding was one of my many interests.  The skateboarding scene was still evolving in the eighties, at least in the area in which I resided.  I was never really “rad” at skateboarding, but I enjoyed working on my skateboarding skills.  I remember my first board was a Gordon & Smith board with Tracker trucks.  I really liked that board.  My friends and I would practice our craft daily, always hoping to add a new trick or two.  We rarely left home without our skateboard.  Sometimes we even took our boards to school and kept them in our lockers.  This allowed us to ride our boards in the downtown area after the school-day.

Along with the skateboarding scene, surfing was popular too.  Several of the skateboarders I practiced with had surfing backgrounds.  They used to tell me stories of surfing.  I listened in amazement as I could only imagine gliding on the water.  I imagined that surfing provides a feeling of freedom as does skateboarding.  The surfers I knew would wear wetsuits when the water temperature was cold.  The wetsuit not only insulated them, it also provided a layer of protection; plus some wetsuits actually look cool.

Drink Juice or Water

Working-out and staying in shape requires dedication and sacrifice not only in the gym, but also outside the gym.  One of the key factors to staying “in shape” is eating correctly and drinking sufficient fluid.

Fluid is one of the most important aspects in exercise.  Water makes up approximately sixty percent of the total body composition.  Over seventy percent of total body mass (or muscle) is composed of water.  Water is an essential nutrient and is a requirement of virtually all cellular functions.  Thus as you can clearly see, without proper hydration, being physically fit is not possible.

So what is the best way to stay hydrated?  According to the American College of Sports Medicine, water or an electrolyte drink is recommended before, during, or after exercise.  Make certain to continue to consume fluids throughout the entire day.  A person that weights two-hundred and twenty pounds, exercises for sixty minutes a day, is not pregnant or breastfeeding, and does not drink alcoholic beverages or smoke cigarettes should consume one-hundred and sixteen ounces of water per day.  I always carry a bottle of water with me when I travel; I especially like cold bottled water.  At home, I usually consume water or juice with every meal.

LSU vs. Arkansas

As I anxiously await the LSU / Arkansas matchup today at 2:30 PM, I can’t help but wonder how the game will play-out?  Last week saw many changes in the BCS rankings.  Many doubters, including myself, thought that Alabama would not have a second chance at the BCS bowl.  However after last week’s major losses, Alabama is right back at number two.  If, and that’s a big IF, Arkansas upsets LSU, then the entire rankings will be changed.  If LSU remains on course, as they have in the past, we could see an LSU vs Alabama matchup in the BCS bowl.  I, for one, would enjoy watching these two teams play again.  The last time they met, it proved to be one of the best, if not the best, matchups of the season.

So as I anxiously await the game today, I will be pulling for LSU, so Alabama can hopefully have a rematch!

Azkals Update

So it has been confirmed that the LA Galaxy will be facing off against the Azkals.  The date is set for December 3, 2011 at 6:30PM.  The place will be the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila, Philippines.  Of course, this is just a friendly exhibition game, but will give the Azkals and the Galaxy more time on the field.  This can be considered an early Christmas present for soccer fans in the Philippines.

An update on the FIFA 2014 Qualifications; the Azkals fell short to Kuwait 2-1in game two, after holding a 1-0 lead at half-time, ending the teams 2014 World Cup ambitions.  The Azkals are still a developing team and will definitely become a powerhouse as they gain experience.  As of November 16, 2011, 139 teams still remain in contention for 31 remaining qualifying places.  Only the host country Brazil was allocated a spot thus far; no automatic place was given to the defending champions Spain.  The 2014 World cup is set for June 12, 2014 until July 13, 2014.  The next World Cup is a couple of years away, but we will be watching the qualifying matches to see whose on the list!

Time for a Gift

During my childhood, I collected several items: stamps, baseball-cards, coins, knives, and watches. From within my collection, watches were one of my favorites to collect.  I would have to say that as I aged, my watch collection grew the most.  Children’s watches in the eighties were bright and defined the era.  A couple of watch makers even capitalized on the inexpensive watch market during that time period.

At one point in time, I had about eight or nine different styles of watches.  I enjoyed wearing a different watch to school each week, sometimes a different watch each day of the week.  I really appreciated the different styles of watches.  I had one watch that had two protective bars across the face and another that had a large digital display.  I liked chronograph watches too, as my friends and I used the stopwatch feature while playing sports.

A watch is a great gift.  It was my preferred gift for Christmas and for my Birthday.  As I grew older, the watches I enjoyed wearing changed, but one thing remained the same, my admiration for watches.  Even today, with the time of day easily accessible via  cell phone and computer, I still have a watch.

Calgary Houses for Rent

I have never been to Calgary, but after seeing the city of Calgary during the 1988 Winter Olympic Games, I would enjoy touring the city and the nearby resort towns.  During the Olympic Games, several network television stations offered a glimpse into the city of Calgary, which piqued my curiosity.

Calgary houses for rent offers rental property in the area, thus finding a nice convenient accommodation would be easy.  From online research, I know my wife and I would enjoy the many festivals and attractions in Calgary and the surrounding areas, such as; the Calgary Stampede.  I would defiantly have to visit Olympic Park and try my luck at skiing or snowboarding, since I have never experienced either of those activities.  I would enjoy viewing the northern lights over the city of Calgary and viewing the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  I know my wife would enjoy taking pictures of the entire city.  If my wife and I every travel to Canada, I will make certain that Calgary is on our list of places to visit.

So as you travel, make certain to place Calgary on your list of places to visit.  I know my wife and I have already added it to our list.

Create a Website with Ease!

Over the past several years, the technological landscape has changed.  As technology has changed, so has the way business is conducted.  A large percentage of commerce is conducted online via the internet.  Many customers search for a product or service online before they even “step foot” in a physical store.  In today’s marketplace, a business that does not have an online presence may not remain in business.  A degree in Computer Science is no longer required to create a website.  User friendly online interfaces make it easy for even the beginning website designer to build a high quality website.  These interfaces usually walk the user through the entire website creation process from start to finish.

Customers require an online portal to access information about a company or product.  If a customer cannot find your company online, chances are the customer will find another company online that offers a similar product and purchase that product.  In order to make a business website even more interactive, add electronic commerce.  Electronic commerce or eCommerce, gives a business’s website the ability to conduct “business” online; thus buying or selling products or services over the internet.  With a fully functional online portal, a business can grow exponentially.
